You know the saying "sticks and stones may break your bones but words will never hurt you"?  Well, not only is that saying just a load of crap but it's also very very untrue.
Sticks and stones can break your bones, but that pain heals and passes eventually.  You may think that words could never hurt you, but that's just seriously stupid.  Words can hurt anybody, and I'm pretty damn sure that they hurt everybody every once and awhile.
You may also think that everything's better by just saying 'I'm sorry' after you've said something mean, hurtful, vindictive, or maybe it was just something you regret saying in the first place, but it's not, simply because those poison words will be embedded into that person's, the one you said the hurtful words to, memory and/or their heart.
And you may think that as time passes, that person forgets those specific words, but sadly, even if they do, those words linger in the air between the two of you, and the slightest trigger of those memories is all it takes for that person to remember the words, and maybe, just maybe, they'll make you eat those horrible words someday....
So, as it stands, watch what you say, and, even if you don't mean what you say, it doesn't mean that the person you say them to could be any more or less offended than when you didn't tell them that you didn't mean it in the first place.
*let's out air* XD
I wrote this after I finished my Reading SOL! XD

Well said! I can't remember where this quote if from but it says "People under estimate their ability to hurt other people" Even a few little words you say under your breath can scar someone forever
